Five persons were killed and 30 others injured when a passenger bus coming from Kakarbhitta to Janakpur met with an accident, Saturday morning.

The bus numbered Me 1 Kha 912 fell some 60 metres off the road from Koshi barrage section of the east-west highway at about 9.30 am, Saturday.

Shailendra Chaudhary and Saiyad Miya are among the deceased. The other deceased are yet to be identified.

16 of the 30 injured are in critical condition, according to the police.

They are undergoing treatment at BP Koirala Institute of Health Science, Dharan.

Others are being treated at Sunsari  Hospital. nepalnews.com
