Twenty-four students were injured, three seriously, when a school bus carrying them met an accident in Bhaktapur Tuesday morning.

The school bus (Ba 1 Kha 9698) belonging to Paragon English Boarding School, Kamal Vinayak, lost control and overturned at Sudal while trying to avoid hitting a pedestrian, reports said.

However, another conflicting report said the bus spun out of control and overturned after the road suddenly caved in.

Although the extent of the injuries the students sustained in the accident was immediately not known, three of the 24 students who were injured have been admitted to the B&B Hospital for treatment for serious injuries.

The students have been identified as Milan Sakha, Bibek Dahal and Nilam Sakha.
