Kalikot district headquarter Manma bazaar became tense Sunday after the death of a local youth due to beating of a hotel owner, reports say.
One Basraj Shahi, 26, of Mehelmudi-1 was beaten to death by five persons including hotel owner Gopal Raut following a dispute over the bills. The deceased was a UML cadre. He died while being rushed to the hospital.
The agitated locals vandalised the hotel and a nearby police station against the incident.
Police resorted lathi charge and firing tear gas after the situation went out of control.
The local administration also imposed a 12-hour curfew from 8 pm, Sunday in and around the district headquarter. nepalnews.com
