Addressing the gathering of security officials in Biratnagar Sunday, Rawal said the government is committed to implementing new security strategies at any cost, which he said is aimed at curbing increasing criminal incidents across the country.
Instructing the security officials to take action against all those vandalising public and private properties, Rawal said he is ready to face any political pressure that might arise thereafter.
Rawal further said government cannot tolerate any criminal or violent activities under the cover of political groups and that it would leave no stone unturned in providing security to its citizens.
The government has already organised such gathering of security officials of the central development region to brief them about the new security strategies.
Opposition groups have criticised the new security strategy saying it aims at suppressing regional and ethic voices. However, Home Minister today clarified that the objective of the strategy is to silence only criminal groups.
The government has already called all on armed groups, if their demands are really political, to sit for talks to find solution through dialogue.
The two-day gathering will design specific plans for security operation in 16 eastern districts. nepalnews.com
