UCPN (Maoist) has decided to call back its ministers from Prime Minister Jhala Nath Khanal's cabinet by Saturday evening, accusing PM Khanal of not being able to reshuffle the cabinet as proposed by the party.

A Maoist standing committee (SC) meeting convened at party headquarters today decided to submit collective resignation of its minister to the PM later today.

"We have decided to call back our ministers," spokesperson Dinanath Sharma told Nepalnews.

"The party will wait until tomorrow to see if he inducts new members in the cabinet. Otherwise, we will be compelled to break our ties."

According to Sharma, the Maoist SC concluded that it was the inability of PM Khanal to convince his party and other parties on the proposed cabinet reshuffle.

The Maoist decision will force PM Khanal to either step down or induct the new faces recommended by the Maoist party. nepalnews.com
