President Dr Ram Baran Yadav offered tika to ordinary citizens on Vijaya Dashami at Shital Niwas on Thursday.
Hundreds of people queued up at the entrance of the President's residence to receive tika from him. Those visiting Shital Niwas to receive tika from the President included senior government officials including army and police officials.
The tika ceremony continued for about five hours from 12:30 pm.
President Yadav had offered tika to the ordinary citizens previous years too.
Before the establishment of Republic, the King would offer tika to the general public in a similar fashion. nepalnews.com
