The former Prime Minister and senior leader of the CPN-UML Madhav Kumar Nepal has given up the state-owned vehicle provided by the government from Friday.

The former PM talked to the Chief Secretary Madhav Prasad Ghimire over telephone this morning and asked him to take back the vehicle and the security personal deployed for his security, according to his press advisor Bishnu Rijal.

“Former PM is returning the vehicle. He will not use it from today,” Rijal told to the Nepalnews.

The former PM did not use the state-owned vehicle while going to Gothatar Bhaktapur to inaugurate Madan-Ashrit Memorial Building this morning and no security personal were deployed to escort him.

His decision comes a day after the Supreme Court issued a verdict asking the government not to provide the facilities to the former PMs, Home Ministers and members of the former royal family without making any law. nepalnews.com
