Criticising the leaders for changing their position on the key issues related to the peace and constitution, the lawmakers have asked the government and the major political parties not to backtrack on the agreements which were reached earlier.

Speaking in the parliament on Wednesday, they accused the leaders of pushing back the peace and constitution writing process by changing their decision on the key issues agreed upon.

The NC lawmaker Narahari Acharya said changing the decision would harm ongoing peace and constitution writing process.

Lawmaker of Rastriya Janamorcha Chitra Bahadur KC accused ruling UCPN (Maoist) of delaying to conclude the peace process.

“The Maoist party is using peace process as a ladder to stay in power,” he added, “Federalism should be dissolved to write the new constitution.”

Similarly, the UML lawmaker Sapana Pradhan Malla suggested major parties to work as per the constitution drafting calendar and not to affect the process by amending it.

Meanwhile, Rastriya Prajantra Party– Nepal led by Kamal Thapa boycotted today’s House meeting to protest against the recent government decision to remove the statue of late king Tribhuvan from Shahid gate. nepalnews.com
