Opposition parties-Nepali Congress and CPN-UML Thursday obstructed the House proceeding as the meeting of the major three parties held this morning failed to find a common ground on the controversial cabinet decision regarding war era land transactions.
Speaker Subas Nemwang announced House deferral till Friday after the opposition lawmakers obstructed the parliament meeting demanding revocation of the cabinet decision to legalise war era land transactions recognised by the then Maoist parallel government.
Earlier this month, the government had decided to give legal status to the purchase and transfer of ownership recognised by the Maoist people’s government.
Earlier today, meeting of the Maoist party, NC and UML called by Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai had ended inconclusively after the Maoist leaders refused to revoke the controversial decision. nepalnews.com
