Constitutional Committee (CC) Sunday decided to amend the constitution drafting calendar based on the agreement among the  major three political parties.

The CC meeting held at Singhdurbar this morning  decided to intensify discussions on the  disputed issues in the dispute resolution Sub-Committee and the CC and settle them by February 12.

According to previous time table, the deadline for settling disputed issues to be incorporated in the new constitution came to an end today.

The meeting of major three parties – UCPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress and CPN-UML - held at Singhdurbar Saturday evening had decided to amend the constitution writing calendar which was endorsed by the Constituent Assembly earlier as their attempts to find common position on some contentious issues in the new constitution including the form of the governance and directive principles of the state failed. nepalnews.com
