Nepal Bar Association (NBA), the umbrella organisation of lawyers, organised a sit-in programme in front of the Constituent Assembly building at Naya Baneshwor on Friday, aiming to create momentum for timely constitution.

Starting from the NBA office at Ramshah Path, the lawyers marched up to Naya Baneshwor and staged the sit-in programme at the prohibited zone in front of the CA building.

Talking to reporters, NBA president Prem Bahadur Khadka said that they were compelled to resort to protest due to the negligence of the parties to complete the twin tasks of peace process and constitution-drafting.

According to him, the lawyers would continue the protest to create pressure on the political parties. nepalnews.com
