The discharge of former Maoist combatants choosing voluntary retirement has started at the First Division of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) in Chulachuli, Ilam, on Saturday.
Of the three satellite camps under the First Division, the discharge process began from Ratna-Shakuntala Brigade, RSS said quoting Shambhuram Simkhada, a supervisor from the secretariat of the Army Integration Special Committee.
The farewell of the former combatants was postponed till today due to lack of technical preparation though the task was scheduled for Friday.
A total of 721 PLA combatants have opted for voluntary retirement from the camps under the First Division. The voluntarily retiring combatants are entitled to pay cheques of the first installment of the government's financial package. nepalnews.com
