'Peace Promotion Centre' has been set up in some of the villages of mid-and-far-western regions with a view to contributing to the establishment of lasting peace by maintaining communal good will among various ethnic groups, RSS reports.

The centres established on the initiative of Rural Reconstruction Organization Nepal (RRN) will engage its efforts especially to address the issues of Dalit, nationalities, Muslims, women, marginalised groups and minorities on the basis of mutual understanding.

Likewise, facilitators serving in the centres will assist community people in undertaking public lobbying, piling pressure on concerned bodies and resolving community problems at local level.

Under the programme, the organization will provide training of trainers including other skills required for the facilitators to perform the job in an effective manner. nepalnews.com
