Police detain nine drug peddlers

A team of police from the Narcotic Drug Control Law Enforcement Unit, Naya Baneswor, held nine traffickers with illegal narcotic drugs worth over Rs. 6.5 million from various places in the recent haunt.

According to the press statement issued by the unit, a police team deployed from the unit arrested four smugglers including Raj Kumar Rumba, 30, Dinesh Kumar Rumba, 27, Hiralal Negi, 34, and Bishal Rumba, 30, hailing from Makawanpur district with 500 kg of hashish from Badbhanjyang of Kathmandu.

Similarly, the police team also held five others with illegal ibuprofen and diazepam drugs from separate places in the capital.

Those who have been arrested are Madan Prasad Bhattarai, 27, of Pali-2, Arghakhanchi, who runs a medical store in Kapurdhara of Kathmandu, Puspa Lal Shrestha, 21 and Niraj Thapa, 28 of Dhapasi-5,  Ram Pravesh Yadav, 24 and Aita Singh Thing, 26. nepalnews.com
