Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has instructed Ministry of Information and Communication (MoIC) and Nepal Telecom (NTC) to improve the quality of mobile phone service.

Holding meeting with the secretary at the MoIC and NTC on Thursday, the PAC instructed concerned authorities to improve the quality by installing solar in the BTS tower of the mobile phone as the users have been facing problem in network connection during the load shedding hours.

“The meeting instructed NTC to buy new equipments as per the procurement act if the problem is solved while doing so,” said PAC chairman Ram Krishna Yadav.

In the meeting, the PAC members had complained that the quality  of service provided by NTC was becoming poor day by day instead of getting better. However, NTC  general manager Amar Nath Singh claimed that the service  was improved in the recent days compared to the past.

According to NTC officials, mobile network becomes poor in the load shedding hours as the battery installed in  the BTS tower can not be fully charged due to the power cut. To solve this problem, the NTC has already planned to install solar system in 4,55 BTS towers throughout the country. nepalnews.com
