Nepali Congress-aligned Nepal Students Union (NSU) and Tarun Dal Friday enforced a bandh (general strike) in Kailali district demanding undivided far western province while federating the country.
The NC has been objecting to the recommendation of the State Restructuring Commission to place Kailali and Kanchanpur districts into Madhesh-Awadh-Tharuwan state.
All marketplaces and academic institutions remained shut while vehicular movements came to a halt due to bandh in the district.
The party has been saying that the far western region should be undivided as all nine districts of far-western region share same cultural and economic characteristic. nepalnews.com
