The meeting of the Constitutional Committee (CC) Wednesday has been deferred due to the absence of UCPN (Maoist) Chairman and dispute resolution sub-committee co-ordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal.

“The meeting has been deferred till Friday morning owing to the absence of Maoist chair Dahal,” CC chairman Nilambar Acharya informed reporters after the meeting.

Acharya further said that there is no meaning in holding discussion on contentious issues seen in constitution drafting and approve any important issues while the leaders of the major parties remain absent in the meeting.

Today’s meeting was expected to endorse the decision made by the sub committee earlier.

This morning Maoist Chair Dahal was busy in his meeting with President Ram Baran Yadav.

However, Nepali Congress vice president Ram Chandra Poudel, CPN (UML) senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal were present in the meeting held in Singh Durbar. nepalnews.com
