The Dhaulagiri Transporters Association has called off its indefinite strike in Dhaulagiri zone on Thursday following a four-point agreement signed after talks held at Baglung district administration office.
The agreement includes release of transporters arrested during the protest and the recognition to the syndicate system in transportation services run by the association.
Bus and jeep services between Parbat, Baglung and Myagdi districts as well the long route services had remained obstructed on Tuesday and Wednesday, leaving hundreds of commuters stranded in the district headquarters and Pokhara.
The Association called the strike to protest the registration of a similar syndicate in Burtibang of Baglung. With today's agreement the new syndicate can operate only with the new vehicles. nepalnews.com
