Maoist PLA combatants holding informal discussion regarding integration in Nepal Army

The Maoist PLA combatants are holding Informal discussion in connection with their preparation for army integration and will reach to conclusion within a few days, said the Maoist PLA sources, RSS reports.

Discussion is being held on the agenda of integration among the PLA chief and commanders of all the seven divisions, Maoist PLA spokesperson Chandra Prakash Khanal.

He informed that directive has been circulated to make up mind and have the respective PLA members informed about the integration.

Political consensus on the integration among the political parties will be acceptable, he said, adding he has urged the political leadership to chart out framework of army integration so that it would pay due respect to the sacrifice and contribution of the PLA.

The party leadership has assured us of accomplishing the army integration process being sensitive to the dignity of PLA, said the PLA commanders.

As it was set to hold discussion with party chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal today about the issue, it could not take place due to busy schedule of the chairperson.

Around 7,000 Maoist combatants have already opted for voluntary retirement and 9,200 combatants are going for integration process.

Earlier, it was agreed among the political parties to integrate some 6,500 Maoist combatants in the Nepal Army. nepalnews.com
