Maoist lawmaker critically hurt in motorbike accident

UCPN (Maoist) lawmaker Sabitri Kumar Kafle has been critically injured in a motorcycle accident in Dharan on Wednesday.

Kaflewas injured when a speeding jeep hit the motorcycle in which he was riding pillion. A Maoist aligned YCL cadre, who was driving the two-wheeler, has also been seriously injured in the incident.

Kafle is currenlty receiving medical care at Biratnagar located Neuro hospital where doctors attending him say he has serious head injuries and fractured legs. The Maoist lawmaker was initially treated at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan before being transferred to Neuro Hospital.

Kafle was elected to the Constituent Assembly from Morang Area no. 3. nepalnews.com
