The closed door session of the National Representatives Council of the CPN (UML) started at the National Academy hall, Kathmandu, on Monday.
Party chairman Khala Nath Khanal presented his political report for debate at the start of the closed door session.
In his document, Khanal claimed that there is risk of dictatorship because of the activities of the UCPN (Maoist) and that there is still no credible environment for promulgation of the new constitution within the deadline.
Khanal also reiterated the party's positions against ethnicity-based federal model including the demand for the a single Madhes province. Similarly, he mentioned that the party's stance for directly elected prime minister and ceremonial president is correct because such a system can only ensure a stable politics.
The national council will adopt the policy drafts at the end of the discussion in the closed door session. 900 senior cadres are participating in the council that started on Sunday. nepalnews.com
