A meeting of Sub-committee under the Constitutional Committee of the Constituent Assembly held on Monday ended inconclusively owing to differences between the three parties on whether to take forward the peace process and constitution-drafting simultaneously.
In the meeting held at Singha Durbar, Nepali Congress and CPN-UML stood for settling the disputes related to the peace process before resolving the differences seen in the constitution drafting.
The meeting decided to wait for the decision of the Army Integration Special Committee (AISC) scheduled for Tuesday as its decision would be crucial in gearing up the task of constitution-drafting, said UML lawmaker Agni Kharel emerging from the meeting.
Parties are yet to reach consensus mainly on the rank of Maoist combatants to be integrated into Nepal Army and the contents of the constitution. nepalnews.com
