In a wake of reports of border encroachment and harassment of Nepalese nationals by Indian armed forces comes news that suspected of Unified CPN (Maoists) have allegedly damaged three border pillars on the Nepal-India border and hoisted a red flag of the party inside the Indian territory.
According to reports, the incident which occurred in Shravasti district of Uttar Pradesh State of India, which neighbors Nepal's Dang district where the recent cases of border encroachment by Indian border security forces were reported, have alerted the state authorities.
It is learnt that the Indian authorities have already contacted Nepalese officials on this matter and called for prevention of such incidents in the future. They are also said to have stressed on the need to ensure better coordination between the border unit of Nepal Police and India's border security force the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB).
