The two members of the Constituent Assembly who left Unified CPN (Maoist) to form a new party are likely to get their parliamentary membership cancelled.

A sub-committee entrusted to recommend the future of two Maoist 'defectors' - Matrika Yadav and Jagat Yadav - asked the parliament secretariat for canceling their membership on Tuesday.

The sub-committee headed by Nepali Congress leader Pushpa Bhusal submitted its recommendation to the Business Advisory Committee of the CA for final approval.

After discussing the legal and constitutional provisions related to CA membership and cancellation, CA Chairman Subas Nembang will take a final decision on the matter.

The Yadav duo had left their party after unification between CPN (Maoist) and CPN (Unity Center-Masal) - renamed as UCPN (Maoist), -- and went on to re-organise CPN (Maoist).

Immediately after they left the party, the UCPN (Maoist) had asked the Constituent Assembly to revoke the duo's membership . nepalnews.com
