Seven die in Salyan jeep accident

At least seven people were killed when a jeep they were traveling in met with an accident in Salyan district Friday morning. Eight others were injured in the accident.

Jeep driver Toran Kunwar of Syanikhal, Samjhana Mahara of Sitalpati,Radhika Sejwal of Khalanga and Matrika Bhandari of Syanja were killed in the incident. Similarly, a minor and other two women also died. However, their identities are yet to be established, according District Police Office Salyan.

The accident occurred when the jeep heading to Khirawang from Srinagar turned turtle at a place called Chiuneta while negotiating a difficult turn in the hilly road, it is learnt.

A police team aided by locals was mobilised for rescue operations in the area. Injured persons are receiving treatment at a community hospital in Shitalpati. nepalnews.com
