Nepal Students Union cadres loyal to Sher Bahadur Deuba faction...Cadres of the Nepal Student Union (NSU) loyal to Sher Bahadur Deuba faction of the Nepali Congress took to the streets, demanding immediate announcement of the date of the NSU general convention and protesting against the 'general convention preparatory committee' formed by NC president Sushil Koirala.

The protesting NSU cadres staged demonstration and blocked the traffic at Pradarsani Marg by burning tyres on the road. They started angry protest after the police used force against them when they were trying to padlock the NSU office at Bagbazaar.

At least half a dozen protesting NSU cadres were injured in the police action.

Earlier this week, 28 members of the general convention preparatory committee had resigned en masse citing under representation of the student leaders from Deuba faction. nepalnews.com
