President Ram Baran Yadav has urged the political leaders to deal the issue federalism sensitively so that it does not harm national unity.
Talking to a team of reporters at his official residence, Shital Niwas, on Saturday, president Yadav advised the leaders not to adopt federalism in a way that it leads the nation towards split.
“National unity should be top priority while forming the federal states,” said Yadav.
Stating that India and China, Nepal's two immediate neighbours, have witnessed rapid economic growth within a short time, he said political stability is a prerequisite for a country to prosper economically.
“Nepali people desire for lasting peace and political stability. I hope the leaders will conclude the task of peace and the constitution writing within the deadline.” nepalnews.com
