A meeting of the three major parties - UCPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN (UML) – scheduled for Sunday has been put off upon the request of the main opposition party NC.

The three-party meeting that was to be held at the Peace and Reconstruction Ministry was supposed to continue discussion on the draft bill on Truth and Reconciliation Commission and others issues pertaining to the constitution drafting and peace processes.

NC requested postponement of today’s meeting citing “busy schedule” of the party leaders, Prime Minister’s personal aide Bishwodeep Pandey told Nepalnews. NC president Sushil Koirala is also in Udaypur to attend a party programme.

On Saturday, the three-party had agreed to table the draft bill on Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) in the parliament and had decided to entrust the responsibility to finalise the draft of the bill to the Ministry of Law.

The Army Integration Special Committee (AISC) that met today morning also remained undecided about the modality of the integration of the Maoist combatants. Nepalnews.com
