The sub-committee constituted under the Legislature-Parliament's committee on women, children and social welfare has called for an investigation into the incident of caste discrimination in Saptari and taking action against the culprits.

According to RSS, the incident relates to the alleged killing of one Shiva Shankar Das of Pangsera-5, Saptari district. Shiva Shankar's family members have alleged that the culprits are on the run and the police refused to register their complaint.

A meeting of the sub-committee today held under the chairmanship of sub-committee convenor Binod Pahadi demanded carrying out an impartial investigation into the incident and bringing the culprits to book.
