Nepali Congress president Sushil Koirala Wednesday said Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai should resign if he failed to conclude the peace process by the end of Chaitra (April 12).

NC President Sushil KoiralaSpeaking at a media gathering ogranised by Nepal Press Union in Dhanusha, Koirala said the government cannot continue on moral grounds if peace process did not come to an end by then. He also claimed that the NC would take the government's leadership after the current government made way.

The NC president, who is in a week-long tour to different districts in Terai, also held the Maoists responsible for the delay in the peace process. He said the hesitation on the part of the Maoists to go by the seven-point agreement had created hurdles in the integration of the combatants.

Koirala was accompanied by parliamentary party leader Ram Chandra Poudel and senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba in the programme. nepalnews.com
