The Constitutional Committee (CC) Saturday discussed the report of the State Restructuring Commission (SRC), which was forwarded to it following a debate in the Constituent Assembly.

The CC members presented their views on the SRC report on restructuring of the state in the meeting held at Singha Durbar today.

Nepali Congress parliamentary party leader and vice president Ram Chandra Poudel, UML chairman Jhala Nath Khanal and Maoist leader Dev Gurung presented their views in the meeting.

The 11 state-model proposed by the SRC includes Limbuwan, Kirat, Tamsaling, Newa, Tamuwan, Narayani and Magarat states including Mithila-Bhojpura-Koch Madhesh (in eastern Terai), Lumbini-Avath- Tharuwan (in western Terai) and a non-territorial Dalit state.

Though the SRC report has already been presented in the CA for discussions, leaders of the major political parties are still trying to resolve the differences on the subject. nepalnews.com
