CPN-UML chairman Jhala Nath KhanalCPN -UML chairman Jhala Nath Khanal continued his telephone conversations on the new constitution with the political workers and civil society representatives in the districts for the 5th day on Monday.

Khanal spoke with select persons in Chitwan today on the issue of federalism. During the conversation, Khanal said major parties were going to arrive at an agreement on the contentious issues of the constitution by the first week of Baisakh (3rd week of April), of Khanal's personal aides said.

According to him, dialogue between the parties on the constitution were going to intensify in the coming days.

He also said that 'ethnicity' and the 'capacity' should be the basis of the federalism and that the UML was not in favour of ethnicity-based model as such.

The UML chairman had started telephone conversations with party cadres, local leaders and ordinary people in the districts on constitution-drafting process from Thursday. nepalnews.com
