The Nepal Electricity Authority, Duhabi Grid Branch, has increased the time of power cut in Mechi and Koshi zones to 18 hours daily for a week.

The NEA increased the load-shedding hours as the Duhabi Grid gets only 30 MW power from the Kataiya Power House, India, according to RSS. The Kataiya Power House has decreased power supply to Nepal as it has been carrying out maintenance works.

Kataiya Power House has cut 50 MW electricity supply to the Duhabi Grid citing the maintenance works.

The available power received from the Kataiya Power House will be distributed in Mechi and Koshi in rotation, said Chief of the NEA Duhabi Grid, Laxmi Narayan Mukhiya.

The additional power-cut has affected normal life as well as industrial activities in the east. nepalnews.com
