UCPN (Maoist) politburo member and former minister Janardan Sharma, who is suffering from Japanese Encephalitis, was airlifted to New Delhi on an air ambulance Monday evening after his condition deteriorated.

Janardan SharmaSharma has been taken to Medanta, a super specialty hospital in Gurgaon from New Delhi. Doctors at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj, where he had been undergoing treatment for the last three days, referred him to New Delhi after he showed no improvement.

Sharma, a former deputy commander of the Maoist army, was elected from Rukum-2 as Constituent Assembly member. He was Peace and Reconstruction Minister in the Pushpa Kamal Dahal-led government formed after the CA election. nepalnews.com
