Pakistan's foreign secretary Salman Bashir arrived in Kathmandu Saturday on a three-day official visit.
Bashir, who arrived in Kathmandu at the invitation of his Nepali counterpart Gyan Chandra Acharya, is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, Foreign Minister Sujata Koirala and other political leaders and bureaucrats during his stay.
Bashir's visit is aimed at reviewing Pakistan-Nepal political and economic relations and exploring ways to strengthen bilateral ties, according a statement issued by the Pakistani embassy in Kathmandu.
The Pak foreign secretary's visit comes a week after Indian foreign secretary Shiv Shankar Menon visited Nepal, holding high profile political parleys. nepalnews.com Jun 27 09
