Japanese Foreign Minister Koichiro Gemba is arriving in Kathmandu Saturday afternoon for a short trip.
Gemba, who will spend less than 24 hours in Nepal, is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai, President Ram Baran Yadav and his Nepali counterpart Narayan Kaji Shrestha and a few senior political leaders during the visit. He is to land in Kathmandu at 3 pm, leading a 21-member delegation.
The Japanese Foreign Minister's visit will be focused mainly on assessing the effectiveness of Japan's assistance in Nepal's development, it is learnt.
The visit by the Japanese Foreign Minister comes after a gap of 35 years. nepalnews.com
