Japan's Foreign Minister Koichiro Gemba arrived in Kathmandu Saturday on a short official visit.Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Narayan Kaji Shrestha received Gemba and his 21-member delegation at around 10:00 pm at TIA.
During his 16-hour stay, Gemba is scheduled to meet President Ram Baran Yadav, Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai, and his Nepali counterpart Narayan Kaji Shrestha and a few senior political leaders.
Nepal and Japan will also sign agreements on mutual cooperation during the visit.
After wrapping up his Nepal visit, Gemba is slated to depart for India at 3:00 pm today.
The visit by the Japanese Foreign Minister comes after a gap of 35 years. nepalnews.com
