Morang district vice-chairman of CPN (UML) aligned Youth Association Nepal (YAN), Parshuram Basnet, who is charged of masterminding the murderous attack on journalist Khilanath Dhakal in Biratnagar a year ago, has surrendered before the Morang district court on Monday.

Basnet, who was absconding to avoid arrest since the June 5 attack hogged national headlines, reached the district court accompanied by large number of YAN activists and surrendered before the authorities.

Basnet had been summoned by the Morang District Court on charge of kidnapping and murder bid following June 5 attack on journalist Dhakal. Police had also filed a lawsuit in the court to bring him to justice, but he didn't show up at the court. nepalnews.com
