Nepali Congress has decided to table no confidence motion against the coalition government led by Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai if the parties fail to reach consensus on the formation of the national unity government within two days.
A joint meeting of NC central committee and parliamentary party held at the Constituent Assembly (CA) building in New Baneshwor on Tuesday took the decision to this effect.
The meeting also decided to take initiation to form unity government under NC’s leadership before May 27 when the term of the Constituent Assembly expires.
The NC has been stressing that consensus government should be formed before May 27 saying that formation of unity government was one of the components of the seven point agreement.
According to NC secretary general Krishna Sitaula, the meeting decided to simultaneously raise the agendas of the formation of national consensus government and the issues related to the constitution drafting process.
The meeting also decided to show flexibility on the form of the governance but not to get back with it’s stance on the restructuring of the state. Nepalnews.com
