Nepal Police on Wednesday made public one of the key accomplices of the murderers of Islamic Sangh Nepal general secretary Faizan Ahmed.

The police presented Dhan Dahadur Thapa, 27, of Goshwara-6, in Ramechhap district, before the media during a press conference in Kathmandu. Officials of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) said they had found his involvement in Faizan’s murder.

According to the police, Thapa, a taxi driver, ferried Nepal-based Indian mastermind and two shooters in his taxi (BA 1 JHA 5570) to Ghantaghar where Faizan was shot dead.

DIG Upendra Kant Aryal said Thapa also possessed the weapons used to shoot the Muslim leader.

According to him, the investigation team recovered the USA-based pistol and six rounds of bullets after raiding his Dhapasi-based rented room.

The police have also identified the mastermind behind the murder. Nepal-based Indian national Aditya Pal aka Subash/Yogesh (32), a native of Lucknow  Uttar Pradesh, masterminded the murder and Fahad Alam (28) along with another man involved in shooting. Their photographs were released in the press conference.

The investigation has also shown link between the murder of media mogul Jamim Shah and Faizan. Trilok Singh aka Babbu (52) of Uttar Pradesh who coordinated Faizan’s murder was also the mastermind behind the murder of Shah and the murder attempt on Yunis Ansari at the central jail in Kathmandu.

Faizan, 41, was shot dead in front of Trichandra Campus on Sept. 26 last year. Nepalnews.com
