A 52- member team traveling to Kathmandu to hold talks with the government has been stranded in Bardiya district due to Nepal bandh (shutdown strike) called by Joint Struggle Committee of Bahun and Chettri community to raise their voice for ‘national integrity’ and ‘communal harmony’ on Thursday.
The talks team was on its way to the capital to negotiate with the government on undivided far west demand. The initiators of the undivided far west campaign are learnt to have been enforcing bandh on 14th consecutive day on Thursday even after being invited by the government for the talks.
The government’s team led by recently inducted Deputy Prime Minister Krishna Prasad Sitaula was scheduled to hold talks to them but the negotiation has been deferred due to the bandh. nepalnews.com
