The Joint Struggle Committee for Ethnic Harmony, which is organising nationwide bandh (general strike), has said vehicular movement would be allowed during the bandh.
Kumar Bahadur Thapa, spokesperson of the committee, in a press statement Thursday afternoon that vehicular movement would not be obstructed during the bandh.
However, despite the committee's policy vehicular movement was badly hit with almost no public transport operating in Kathmandu valley and major downs outside the capital due to the bandh.
The committee which comprises of organisations representing different communities including Brahmins, Chhettris and Dalits, has called the bandh on Thursday and Friday to protest against "ethnicity-based federalism" and to maintain communal harmony. nepalnews.com
