Over dozen protestors were injured  in Kailali headquarters Dhangadi in separate clashes on Friday. A clash took place when police intervened Tharu demonstrators demanding Tharuban province based on the identity of Tharu ethnicity after they tried to move towards Park Mode near the office of District Development Committee where undivided far west supporters were showing their strength, local journalist Yogesh Rawal told to nepalnews.

The police intervened Tharu demonstrators  to avoid possible clash between the two groups.

Similarly, at least five persons were injured in another clash. A group demanding undivided far west and another group protesting against such demand clashed near revenue office.

The injured are undergoing treatment at Seti Zonal hospital and Nava Jewan Hospital.

Due to the demonstrations of the two groups, tension ran high in Dhangadi whole day. The demonstrators also set a tractor on fire in Mudha. With bandh (shutdown strike) being enforced since last two weeks, life in Kailali district has been thrown out of gear. nepalnews.com
