Sadbhawana Party chairman Rajendra Mahato was sworn in as Minister for Health and Population on Saturday.
Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai administered him oath of office and secrecy in a ceremony held at the President's Office, Shital Niwas.
He was named Health and Population Minister when 11 ministers of the "consensus cabinet" were sworn in on May 11, but he was absent in the oath ceremony as his party's national convention was underway in Janakpur.
Mahato, who was re-elected as Sadbhawana chief from the general convention, had held the same portfolio in the previous cabinet. nepalnews.com
