Undivided Far West campaigners Thursday called off bandh (shutdown strike) which was being enforced in the far west region since three weeks.
Coordinator of Undivided Far West Civil Movement Mobilisation Committee, Gopal Deuba said they called off bandh effective from today.
Though life is gradually turning normal in the region, bazaar areas are still partially shut down due to the bandh called by Bahun-Chhetries and Tharu community on Thursday, Dhangadhi-based journalist Dirgha Raj Upadhyaya told to Nepalnews.
People have started to buy daily commodities after shops opened in the market places this afternoon. Vehicles have also started service in the outskirts of Kailali headquarters.
The bandh was called off after the major three parties assured the protestors that they would address the Undivided Far West movement. nepalnews.com
