Outgoing US ambassador to Nepal Scott H. DeLisi met Maoist chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal at the latter's residence Thursday, discussing Nepal's ongoing political process.

In the meeting DeLisi noted that Nepal was entering a new age and that all the foreign friends should equally support it, and also assured chairman Dahal of the US government´s continued support to Nepal in the days ahead, RSS quoted Dahal´s press coordinator Santosh Paudel as saying.

The US ambassador also assured Dahal that the US Government would soon delist the UCPN (Maoist) from the list of terrorist organisations.

The Maoist chairman on his part said his party was committed to taking the country to the path of economic prosperity by drafting the constitution on time. nepalnews.com
