Local administration in Kailali stalled relief distribution to flood victims on Tuesday due to threats by local Maoist leaders, Annapurna Post daily reported.

The district committee for disaster relief had sent a consignment of food to be distributed to some 4000 families of Tikapur municipality, and Narayanpur, Dahnsinghpur VDCs Monday evening with a plan to begin the distribution from the next day during Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal's visit.

On hearing such news, more than hundred persons from Dhansinghpur had reached the VDC office to collect the relief. However, they returned empty handed after they did not get the relief.
