President Ram Baran Yadav has said that the constitution should be promulgated by May 27 itself.

President Ram Baran Yadav"People want constitution within May 27 to achieve lasting peace and to institutionalise the republic," President Yadav said while addressing a ceremony after inaugurating the Election Education and Information Centre established by the Election Commission in its premises on Thursday.

President Yadav called on Constituent Assembly chair Subas Nemwang, who was present on the occasion, to take necessary initiation for drafting the constitution by May 27.

During his consultations with Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai and Maoist chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Wednesday, President Yadav had emphasised the need to intensify negotiations between the parties to end the confusion over the constitution. nepalnews.com
