Prime Minister Baburam BhattaraiThe Supreme Courton Thursday summoned Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Law Krishna Prasad Situala to answer questions on charges of contempt of court by deciding to extend the Constituent Assembly's term.

A single bench of justice Kalyan Shrestha ordered the Prime Minister and the Law Minister to appear in the court, in person, within seven days.

DPM Krishna Prasad SitualaAdvocate Kamal Raj Itani in his writ accused PM Bhattarai and DPM Situala of contempt of court by registering the constitution amendment bill to extend the CA's term by three months despite the SC's earlier verdict against another extension.

In another ruling on a separate writ petition today, a single bench of Chief Justice Khil Raj Regmi asked the government not to proceed with the constitution amendment process to extend the CA's term. nepalnews.com
