PM Baburam BhattaraiPresident Dr. Ram Baran YadavPresident Dr. Ram Baran Yadav has expressed his hope that the political parties will be able to forge agreement on constitutional issues to promulgate the constitution within tonight.

The President made his belief clear in a meeting with Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai in Shital Niwas, the Office of the President, Sunday morning.

PM Bhattarai, who had reached Shital Niwas to brief the President about the negotiations on constitutional issues held till late night Saturday, said in response that the political parties are trying to complete negotiations on disputed issues of the constitution in an amicable manner and expressed his firm belief that its outcome will be positive.

Meanwhile, Shital Niwas, the President's Office, is all set to promulgate the Constitution by Sunday evening or Monday afternoon even as the political parties are engaged in last-ditch effort to reach an agreement on disputed issues and promulgate the constitution within the May 27 deadline.

According to reports, a grand ceremony will be held at Shital Niwas for promulgating the constitution once the Constituent Assembly gives a nod to the final draft of the constitution.

On Saturday, Constituent Assembly Chairman Subash Nemwang had met President Yadav and briefed the latter about the procedure to promulgate the constitution within the stipulated deadline and the ongoing discussions among the parties to ensure that. nepalnews.com
